How to pronounce this romanized Korean word "dal"?

dal means moon in Korean and i need the the correct pronounciation! Is it pronounced like "ta-ar"?? my friend says that in Korean the "d" has a really soft sound that sounds like a "t" and the "L" also has a really soft sound that sounds like a rolled "r" sound. IS MY FRIEND CORRECT? HOW DO YOU PRONOUNCE THIS WORD?
