Should I get a place of my own?

My mum and Dad are divorced. For the past ten years I have lived with my mum. I am 18. My mum and I don't really get on well at the moment - I mean we're not horrendous but all the same. Im not going to Uni until I definatley decide what I want to do. I am yearning for Independance but I'm worrying that I won't be able to survive - exaggeration I know but - and I don't know how to tell my parents. What to do?
