What will people in America do when it collapses economically? Will we rebuild, lose freedom (BELOW)?

US survived Great Depression, World War, Cold war, Oil crisis. Housing crisis is nowhere as bad as some of these. Yeah it will be hard, unemployed manufacturing workers will have to swallow their union pride and take entry-level jobs in service industries, and Social Security benefits will be cut, but in the end US will turn out fine.
