Fell for best friend.?

Your typical story here. I've kinda liked her off and on over our 6 year friendship, but never bothered to make anything out of it. Didn't even flirt (She does now and then, but she says it isn't intentional). I've always been her fallback and comfort and we do a lot of fun things together (She has even made the coment that she wants us to be neighbors when we are older). Well, after awhile these feelings became more concrete and now I am positive what I feel toward her is more than just a ping fancy. However, I know from conversations I have had with her that she feels that it will never happen between us as I am not her type, despite me never having actually tried flirting with her and what not. I am actually the only friend she has had that she has not dated. She recently got out of a very chaotic 3 year relationship, and is still working through it, but she is wieghing her options. I'm getting tired of having this "what if" feeling, but I do't know if I can get a chance. ideas?
